Trainer Course in OSHA Standards for General Industry


This is the most popular OSHA course designed for private sector personnel from all types of industries. It presents detailed information on how to implement the provisions of the OSH Act in the workplace. Rights and responsibilities under the OSH Act, the appeals process, recordkeeping, and Voluntary Protection Programs are covered. It also includes an introduction to OSHA's general industry standards and an overview of the requirements of the more frequently referenced standards.

This course authorizes students to conduct both a 10- and 30-hour voluntary compliance course and issue course completion cards to participants.

Prerequisite: None

Credit: 2.5 CEUs

Students completing this course should be able to:

  • Find correct OSHA standards in 29 CFR 1910;
  • Locate OSHA standards, policies, and procedures;
  • Describe the use of OSHA standards and regulations to supplement an ongoing safety and health program;
  • Identify common violations of OSHA standards;
  • Describe appropriate abatement procedures for selected safety hazards;
  • Describe how to conduct OSHA regulations training.
